The Shodh Sagar Journal of Commerce and Economics is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethics. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and constitutes a serious breach of ethical standards.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism involves the use of another person's ideas, words, data, or work without proper acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text verbatim from a source without quotation marks and proper citation.
Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one's own previously published work or data without proper citation.
Mosaic Plagiarism: Paraphrasing sections of another's work without proper citation.
Insufficient Acknowledgment: Failing to properly credit sources of information, ideas, or data.

Plagiarism Detection
To prevent and detect plagiarism, the journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submitted manuscripts. Additionally, reviewers and editors are vigilant in identifying potential plagiarism.

Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original and that all sources are appropriately cited. Authors must:
Cite Sources: Properly cite all sources of information, data, and ideas that are not their own.
Use Quotations: Use quotation marks and proper citation for any text that is copied verbatim from another source.
Avoid Self-Plagiarism: Clearly indicate any reuse of their own previously published work and provide appropriate citations.

Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected, the following actions may be taken:
Minor Plagiarism: For cases of minor plagiarism (e.g., a few sentences copied without citation), the authors may be asked to revise the manuscript to include proper citations and quotations.
Major Plagiarism: For cases of significant plagiarism (e.g., large sections of text copied without citation), the manuscript will be rejected outright, and the authors may be prohibited from submitting to the journal in the future.
Published Work: If plagiarism is detected in a published article, the journal will retract the article, and a retraction notice will be published. The authors' institutions may also be informed.

Reporting Plagiarism
Reviewers and readers who suspect plagiarism in any manuscript or published article are encouraged to report their concerns to the editorial office at editorial@shodhsagarjournal.com. All reports of plagiarism will be investigated thoroughly.

Ethical Commitment
By submitting a manuscript to the Shodh Sagar Journal of Commerce and Economics, authors agree to adhere to this plagiarism policy and uphold the highest standards of academic integrity.
